Robbie Turner was the son of the Tallis family housekeeper with a Cambridge education courtesy of his mother's employer. He was falsely accused of rape and sent to prison and upon his release there was the condition he join the army. During the fighting in the Battle of France he was separated from his unit, and made his way on foot to Dunkirk. Where he died of a wound he had received.
